Did I mention April was a busy month for us? We had been wanting to visit James's Grandmother in Syracuse for at least a year and we finally got on a plane last month. We survived the 6 flights there and back with Sydney on the verge of an ear infection relatively unscathed. Amen! I think it is so awesome that Sydney got to meet her Great Grandma Derlia! I only wish that the temperature in Syracuse rose higher than 50 degrees the whole time we were there...burrrr!
Four generations:
A big highlight of the trip for me was the opportunity to leave Sydney behind in Syracuse with Ama and grandpa and go into the city for the day. 12 blissful hours without a toddler in tow...it was so relaxing :)
James and I visited ground zero where they are almost finished with construction on the last two towers. I was surprised by how emotional I got visiting the memorial, so many lives lost and sacrifices made. I'd like to go back when they finish the visitors center.
We treated ourselves to 3 awesome meals that day (and yes one of them came from a truck vendor!) and with tickets to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theater. It was a fantastic day.
Before we left NY we got to visit Niagra Falls. We lucked out and got sun that day...it is beautiful isn't it? We were going to ride on the boat, the Maid of the Mist (see the bottom right corner of the first picture), but it was like 40 and super windy so opted out (thankfully).
